So it's been two years since i wrote anything on here...and i'm not quite sure what's motivated me to come back to it today. It's summer, the kids are in full swing with summer activities: "tenting", swimming, catching bugs, biking, playing in mud, etc. Titus just brought home a slingshot yesterday, we'll see how long we can go without a broken window. :) It's Father's day this weekend, so the kids and i have a little shopping to do while Titus enjoys one of his father's day gifts out at the Iowa Speedway. :) Titus has only had the motorcycle out a few times this spring, it's been a pretty rainy spring. Hopefully the weather will calm down a little so he can take some relaxing drives. He's also thrown himself into a new project of stripping out a trans am for parts so he can restore his firebird. I've had a renewed burst of energy for cooking again.
Maybe it's because for the first time in years i'm not pregnant or carrying a child in a baby carrier (although on occasion Rome has to climb in the backpack for old times sake). Grace is on a tooth losing streak and saves every penny for little glass animals from the toy store (although she's been eying the drumsticks at the pool a lot lately).
Faith has been eager to do everything Grace does. She keeps up pretty well and often passes Grace up in an effort to "be the best".
We'll have to find a way to channel that competitive spirit! :) Hope continues to shock and amuse us with her funny ways.
I've always said that girl has a royalty complex, but lately she's changing into a sweet little girl. I have to admit, I miss some of her "airs". Roman is talking talking talking! I love it! To finally hear what's been going on in that over-sized head of his is entertaining to say the least. He's also our typical boy, covered in mud and scrapes and bruises most of the time!
Titus and I are enjoying every moment with our little treasures! Every day they are getting bigger and bigger...and so are the blessings!

This spring has included several visits to family in Wichita and of course everyone's favorite place, Kansas City, graduations, weddings and birthday's always swamp the month of May. We spend a lot of time keeping up the animals. Murdock our dog runs away every other day, it seems...good thing we don't live in town! The chickens are outside after a month of chirping chicks all night long! They are still waiting for me to build them a proper home! :) The guinea pigs, Rhino and Shere Khan, are getting along again, now that they have a bigger home (although i'm not loving all the space it takes up!).

We're looking forward to a fun summer, and at least one trip to Turkey Hill (the kids think it's heaven's playground). :) We also have a few home improvement projects to try and get done before fall. We'll see how much gets done!

All that said, we're grateful to God for a safe home, good job, a wonderful family and four great children! We hope you all have a great summer...and now i need to go attack the afternoon! :)

6 years ago today...

actually, it's tomorrow, but titus and i were married six years ago!!! i can honestly say that it gets sweeter as the time goes by (that was for all you hilltoppers out there)! tonight we are up with a hope, who keeps having nightmares. it's hard to believe we've had four children in the short time we've been married. God really has given us so much in the form of these little ones. well, we're going to play some mariokart while hope wears herself out and falls asleep again...hopefully for the night.

ok, so i'm new at this...

I'm not really sure how all this works...so i feel like i'm misrepresenting my family on here...we do have another child not pictured, his name is Roman and he's three months old. I have yet to get a good picture of all four kids together except when Roman was first born...unfortunatly all those pics are with the man who's fixing our computer...didn't back them up!!! oops. we've been so busy trying to get both houses ready for winter, I will be so glad to get our other house sold! Titus's family from Wichita is all coming up here to Iowa this weekend, we're all looking forward to that! ...a general disclaimer, i'm horrible at english...grammer and all that. i'm going to post a picture of Roman on here just because i don't have one of him and i do everyone else. maybe there's a gadget to add pics...i guess i'll have to check that out when i have time. HA...have time... so enough for now, enjoy your weekend!

where to begin...

i'm not sure this will ever be read, so i'll just treat it like a journal...a somewhat public journal. today was kind of lazy. it rained a little and we all took a thirty minute impromptu nap while reading skippyjon jones. they're almost done getting our furnaces in, which will be nice. i'll need to do some serious cleaning when they're finally done. there's black soot everywhere. faith went to the doc today for an enormous bug bite. nothing bad though. hope was so tired tonight, and so sweet. she helped me change roman's diaper. that was adorable. grace is liking school so much, i miss her a lot though when she's there. roman grows up a little more each day. i wish i could make time stand still. i've not wanted to watch the news at all. all the money talk makes me feel unneccesarily stressed out. titus and i got to talk a little tonight. those moments are so rare these days. we seem to be so busy all the time. i'm going to cherish my time with them all...and then i'm going to blog about it! :)
